Ria Betteridge, Consultant Nurse for Tissue Viability, Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (RGN, BSc, MSc)
Ria is Consultant Nurse in Tissue Viability at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and manages a team of specialist nurses. She has worked in the speciality of Tissue Viability for over 16 years and has experience in acute, community and commercial sectors. She was awarded Nurse of the Year in 2012 at the Trust where she currently works, for improvements to patient services.
Ria has presented at regional, national and International conferences in wound management and presented at European Wound Management Association (EWMA) on a Tissue Viability Competency Frameworks in May 2015. She is currently a Trustee for the Tissue Viability Society.
Ria has a degree in Tissue Viability and a Master’s degree in Advanced Clinical Practice and Professional Education. She is a registered independent prescriber and clinical teacher. She currently co- leads the Pressure Ulcer Prevention work stream for the Oxford Academic Health Science Network (Patient Safety Collaborative). She is passionate about improving outcomes for patients, clinical education and promoting safer care.
