HEALTH EDUCATION ENGLAND WORKING ACROSS THAMES VALLEY
Genomics Fellow

We would like to introduce an exciting new opportunity in the field of Genomics.

A collaborative between Health Education England (HEE) Thames Valley, Oxford Genomics Medical Centre (GMC), Oxford Institute of Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Research (OxINMAHR) is developing an exciting project in genomics working across the Thames Valley.

One of the key objectives of the HEE Genomics Education Programme is to develop an intensive and sustainable education programme which will support nurses, midwives and Allied Health Professionals to accelerate and embed the mainstreaming of genomics into routine clinical care along the patient pathway, into education and research practice.

To support the implementation, a Genomics Fellow will be recruited with OxINMAHR and would work across the Thames Valley to support the HEE objectives, 0.5 fte for a fixed term of one year.

The Genomics Fellow and OxINMAHR will be advised and supported by Jennifer Whitfield and her team and the HEE Genomics Education Programme team to shape the work and there will be some financial support for project implementation and evaluation.

We seek clinicians who are interested in advancing awareness and understanding of genomics to transform patient care and experience.

If you are interested in the advancement of genomics, have a clinical background at band 7/8 (AfC), MSc or equivalent experience and are interested in exploring cutting edge developments, please see attached role description and person specification for the Genomics Fellow.

Project deliverables and project governance will be agreed in collaboration with HEETV, Oxford GMC and OxINMAHR, prior to the commencement and the successful candidate will present findings and recommendations within the HEE timeframes through quarterly HEE South Board meetings, at both national and international forums as needed.
